The Atkins Nutritional Approach, which is popularly known as “Atkins Diet” is the most well known of the low carb diets. Dr. Robert Atkins a heart specialist developed this diet plan over 20 years ago. This is the most well known diet plans around the world and the people who have used this diet have been very successful in reducing their weight.
Many of the overweight people trying to loose weight use the Atkins Diet plan. A planned diet is very important for greater results. The principle on which this plan is based is related to how the body processes the carbohydrates in ones body. This diet is unusually different from other diet plans which assume that weight gain is caused by consuming too much fat.
How the Atkins weight loss diet work
When you reduce the intake of carbohydrates each day the body begins a process known as ketosis. During the process your body will burn the fats that are stored in your body and use them as fuel. But during this process there is a effect on the insulin that body produces to help prevent more fat to be formed. The Atkins weight loss diet plan states that once your body has began competently using the stored fat in your body as fuel the carbohydrates will also randomly decrease. You will not feel the need for the foods that you have removed from your diet.
Anyone who has started the Atkins weight loss diet plan, it is important to know that you should start restricting the carbohydrates in junk foods, processed or pre-packed foods. You should start diet plan that is high in protein. This plan has been experimented by thousands of people and it has proved to work very well for weight loss. If you are looking for a low carb diet plan that will really work for you then you can’t do any better then to choose Atkins plan.
