Pharmaceutical Gift Disclosure
Should pricey gifts and dinners from pharma companies to physicians be disclosed to the public?

No one can argue the influence of pharmaceutical companies on health care providers is overwhelming but the more subtle (but equally as powerful) gifts, dinners and other perks doctors receive may be just as influential.
I assume doctors are not immune to the same incentives the rest of us might be - mainly financial incentives. The question I have is does this type of influence impact the quality of care? In other words, are the prescribing behaviors of doctors being swayed by gifts from pharma companies like; golf trips, expensive wines, dinners and tickets to sporting events?
